on the nomenclature page, I only list numbers up to binilexian. naturally, that’s not the limit of how big -exian numbers can get. the -exian series is designed to be infinitely extendable. since a decent amount of my traffic comes from the Googology Wiki (hello!), I figured I might as well talk about how this system can be used to make some real googologisms. (like always, all numbers here are in seximal unless otherwise specified!)

six is, unsurprisingly, the basis of the base six numbering system. it’s got lots of fun properties! it’s a perfect number, a superior highly composite number, and it’s the only number where a 2D regular shape and a 3D regular shape with that many sides will tile space! what a great number.
nif

the word nif comes from the Ndom language, which is spoken by about a thousand people on Yos Sudarso Island in Indonesia. languages that natively use seximal are rather rare, and the ones with the best-documented numbering systems are all spoken in the same part of the world. of all of these languages, Ndom’s numbering system is the most well documented, which is why the Misalian seximal system uses their word for nif.
other languages that use seximal natively include the Yam languages. speakers of Yam languages use seximal so they can count how many yams they have. the most well documented numbering system of these is that of Kómnzo, spoken in the village of Rouku in Papua New Guinea. since this system is used for counting food, there are words for large powers of six. Kómnzo speakers call nif “féta” or “fta”.

even though six nif is indeed written with three zeros, it wouldn’t be fair to call it the seximal equivalent of one thousand. six is much smaller than ten, so 1000 is closer to DEC100 than it is to DEC1000. Kómnzo speakers call six nif “tarumba” or “taruba”. if you eat a yam every day, tarumba yams is enough to last you a bit under a week into August.
unexian

unexian is the actual seximal equivalent of one thousand. I came up with the -exian suffix as a thing that would sound kinda like -illion and also sound kinda like it means “six”. the direct inspiration was the number “googolplexian”, which suggests a fun puzzle of “how much is googolpl equal to?”. there’s a one in unexian chance of rolling a Yahtzee. Kómnzo speakers call unexian “ntamno” or “damno”. this is the recommended amount of yams to feed one family for a year.

nif unexian is a significant number in seximal because it’s six raised to the sixth power. it’s almost equal to the decimal number fifty thousand. Kómnzo speakers call it “wi”, though according to Christian Doehler, nobody in Rouku remembers a time when they actually had that many yams (as of July 2016). nif unexian yams will feed 332 (DEC128) people for a year.

hey, what exactly does “unainekashunyeciam” mean anyway? well,
1) ekashunya means no repeated six times: unainnonononononoeciam.
2) ainnononononono means nil repeated 100 0000 times: 10100 0000-eciam.
3) n-eciam means unexian raised to the 2n-1 power: 1 0000255 5555 = 255 5555-exian.
